Understanding rare blood disorders

Rare blood disorders is a term used to describe a number of different conditions, including different types of haemophilia, rare clotting factor deficiencies and inherited platelet disorders. In people with blood disorders, the blood does not clot as it should, causing prolonged and spontaneous bleeding internally and externally, often into the muscles and joints.
